Important information

On the job

Robin joined Bluecoat with more than five years’ experience in financial planning. He works with clients across pensions, investments, tax and estate planning, helping bring the different pieces of their financial lives together into one clear plan.

Before changing careers, Robin worked as a geoscientist in the oil and gas and extraction industries. It might seem a world away from financial planning, but the two have plenty in common: making sense of complex information, dealing with uncertainty and creating practical plans for the long term.

Robin brings that same analytical approach to financial planning today. His philosophy is simple, strategic and structured: understand what matters to each client, simplify the complicated and build a plan that can adapt as life changes. For Robin, the real value of financial planning is giving clients the clarity and confidence to enjoy life today, knowing they have a comprehensive plan for the future.

In Robin’s free time

Robin loves being active and is happiest outdoors, preferably in the mountains on two wheels or skis. He and his partner love spending time with their dog, who follows them everywhere from the South Downs to the gym and even the office. The three of them can often be found on adventures in France, where his partner’s family live in the Loire region. Robin also has strong family connections to South Africa.

Having travelled extensively for work, Robin now loves living in Brighton and being part of the local community. When he isn’t working or exercising he enjoys following sport, particularly cycling and Formula 1, along with current affairs and geopolitics.
