Ray 
I’m Ray Long, and this is Shirley Long. We have been Bluecoat clients since 2008, so just under 18 years in total. Our adviser is, and has always been, Robin Clarke.

Shirley 
We had been looking at planning for our future and our retirement. We had always been savers, and we wanted to make sure that what we put in place back then, when we first joined Bluecoat, would see us through and be there for our retirement.

Ray 
We heard about Bluecoat from a friend and colleague who knew I was looking for some financial advice.

Shirley 
Straight away, I felt at ease and felt Robin was someone I could trust. We talked about what we wanted, not what they thought was best for us. Naturally, as time went on, we did talk about what’s best and what’s not, but essentially, they made me feel comfortable that planning with them would help us reach the goals that we wanted to achieve.

Ray 
Every time we’ve had a major financial decision to make, Robin has been part of that decision-making process; he’s helped and advised. We’ve had several house moves and remortgages, some financial challenges, and changes in jobs, and at each of those changes in jobs came changes in pension schemes. He’s been there for every major turning point in our financial journey. We’ve always been able to seek advice and get good input from him.

Shirley 
Working with Bluecoat, and Robin in particular, I’ve always felt that he’s looking after our best interests. I feel personally that we can talk to Robin about anything we want regarding our planning and any hiccups that come up along the way, and work out ways that we can get over them.

Ray 
My view of our financial future has always been more comfortable since we’ve been working with Robin than before, simply because we seem to have a clearer view, a clearer vision, and we know exactly where we stand at all times.

Shirley 
I would describe Robin as a really likeable, friendly guy. He’s very professional and approachable.

Ray 
I think the best thing that we found about working with Bluecoat is financial certainty. We know where we are, we know what’s coming, and we can plan further into the future than we could have before.

I would absolutely recommend Bluecoat. In fact, we have recommended Bluecoat to friends and family members, who have all got on board and listened to Bluecoat. They’ve come back to us with good feedback as well, which is really nice to hear. They’re there for you, the planning is great, and we’ve never, ever felt that we’ve done the wrong thing.
